He seems to do a lot of music by and with Glass . What I've heard , I like , but it is hard to tell what I think of him as a violinist, as he I haven't heard him much traditional works to compare . I'm not the word's biggest Phil Glass guy, like him, but don't love him . But his Violin Concerto # 1 I like very much .I wonder if Fain has done it ? I have not heard the recent Glass 2nd concerto , but a friend who's musical taste I trust, says it's good . Sounds like you heard an interesting concert . Did he perform that Glass Partita for solo violin ?

Yes. It was an interesting show and done as fundraiser for the Henry Miller LIbrary (next one is with Rufus Wainwright in late Sept). I'm not crazy about Philip, but his Day and Nights Festival is now headquarted out here in Carmel Valley and he's a BIG supporter of the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur and sits on the film selection committee (along with Laurie Anderson and others) for the Big Sur Film Fest that is run through HML
